We lead the way in new Australian work: since opening the KXT Vault and launching the bAKEHOUSE Residency programs we have supported the development of 59 new Australian scripts, and programmed 22 world premieres of new Australian plays
With the establishment of the uncurated KXT Underground program, we’ve opened up more low-cost space for more artists

This year’s callout has TWO DEADLINES The first is for companies applying for the KXT Summer Season in January and February 2027. The second is for companies applying for March - December 2027. Why? We want to be sure producers have plenty of time to get their team together, announce their season and promote their work.
Each of these has their own unique and slightly different timeline:

WHO ARE YOU? every year bAKEHOUSE programs a mix of new writing with contemporary classics, and early career artists alongside experienced professionals. We love to meet new people; provide opportunities for young artists; and offer a platform to some of our most exciting emerging and established independent theatre makers.
Every year more than half of the work on the KXT on Broadway stage is led by women.
Our operating model is designed to break down barriers for participation, offering a suite of support to underrepresented communities and artists

Attach a single page doc with a brief overview of the show, why you reckon it should be part of the season, and details of your production and creative team, with any confirmed cast
And a copy of the script
Plus evidence of the availability of rights
you must confirm rights are available before submitting
