Every Wednesday evening, Jimmy calls Kitty. For precisely nine minutes. At £1.20 a minute.
Jimmy is 34, lives with his mum and works at Newport's only drive-through doughnut restaurant. Kitty is an adult chatline operator, living in the granny flat of a topiary enthusiast. It’s an unlikely connection, but for Jimmy, things are finally looking up.
Then he loses his job. And starts to disappear - starting with his hands.
Funny, surreal and unexpectedly moving, Alan Harris’s How My Light Is Spent is a tender story about loneliness, desire and the need to be seen.
Director Braiden Toko, with Jane Angharad, Renée Billing, Pita Lolohea, Kira McLennan, James Smithers; understudies Nick McGrory, Charlotte Savva
